We are a group of media students at Warrington Collegiate, and we are creating a documentary about paranormal activity for our media project. In this documentary we wish to have interview footage with professionals on the subject. We were conducting our research and came across your name and work. We were very impressed with your story in the Warrington Guardian about ghost hunting. We would like to know if it would be possible to get an interview with you about your knowledge and for some advice on conducting a ghost hunt, as we wish to try and capture footage of the Newton-Le-Willows White Lady ghost on Newton Lake. Today we did some research on haunted places in Warrington, and also researched about ghost hunting. Got some good ideas of where we're filming our ghost hunt. We also emailed a psycic guy asking if we can interview him about ghost hunting and ask him for advice on our ghost hunt etc. Next week we're going to be starting with the paperwork and scripting etc, should be good :)

Today we completed our idea generation sheets and decided which idea we're going to use for our project. We each chose one idea from our separate mind maps and added them to our idea generation sheets. I've uploaded my idea sheet onto my blog to show each separate idea. :)

IDEA GENERATION

Idea Number 1: (Working Title: Do People Think It's Right to Stop EMA)

Idea Overview:

For this documentary we will be interviewing students and teachers, asking them what they think about EMA being stopped. If they think it should, or shouldn't be stopped.

Purpose - To show people whether EMA is needed or not and why.

Reason for using/rejecting the idea:

We aren’t going to use this idea because there is no B-Roll footage that we could include and so the documentary wouldn’t be very entertaining.

Idea Number 2: (Working Title: Ghosts and Paranormal Activities)

Idea Overview:

We will be interviewing members of the public who do or do not believe in ghosts and physcics. We will also go on a ghost hunt with the cameras in the hope that we will capture footage of some ghosts.

Purpose – To inform people about ghosts and give people a different view on ghosts. Maybe open people’s minds to paranormal activities.

Reason for using/rejecting the idea:

We are using this idea because we thought the idea would work the best and also would be more enjoyable to make.

Idea Number 3: (Working Title: Local British Nature)

Idea Overview:

We will be interviewing park rangers and members of the public asking what their view on nature is, and asking rangers for information about nature. We will also be showing footage of animals, trees, plants and insects etc.

Purpose – To entertain and influence people to get more involved with nature.

Reasons for using/rejecting the idea:

We have chosen not to use this idea because it might not appeal to a wide audience and it would be harder for the crew to get anywhere to film.

Idea Number 4: (Working Title: [nands name] : Uncut)

Idea Overview:

Interview the band/musician asking about the band; when they started, how they met etc. Show footage of the band practicing and performing live.

Purpose – To promote the band and entertain the audience.

Reasons for using/rejecting the idea:

We aren’t going to use this idea because it will be hard to find a band/musician that will be flexible around our filming hours.

New assignment... =)

Today we got the second assignment for Unit 27: Factual Programme Production Techniques for Television. Just made this blog to put all of my work on!! :) 

Sometime soon we're gonna be put into the groups that we're gonna be working in to make our documentaries. Then I guess we're starting putting actual work on here, and not just random blogs about making blogs?! :P

Anyway I think that's enough now?!
